Rpm5 Distro is a bit dull name and we're able to do better. What kind of name would we want?


  • The name could put some emphasis on this project being a shared effort between several distributions:
    • Some buzz words that could be used:
      • Union (Almost as in United Linux;p)
      • Defragment (As we aim to solve the fragmentation issue between RPM based distros)
      • Community
      • Core (as in shared core)
      • Blocks (as in building blocks, almost as in Componentized Linux ;p)
    • Some other terms related to the initiative
      • Underdog (as the distributions involved is considered underdogs, a lot of people likes to root for the underdog;)
    • Other
      • Drake (a lot of Mandrake old timers is very sentimental towards names with Drake in it, also a lot of fans remembers Mandrake as good, while thinking of Mandriva as bad ;)
      • Comix (Community Linux, Combined Linux, etc)
      • Corix (Core Linux)
      • Ciarrix (Ciarrix Is An RPM5 Reference Implementation of linuX)
      • The distribution formerly known as Rpm5 Distro ;p
